I know their are several threads making mention of being able to modify your appearance. While I have loved playing the game thus far, I can't help that I don't care for the current appearance of the suits. I realize that we will most likely be able to change colors of our suits and whatnot upon release, but I can't help but want more.
I am hoping a level of appearance customization that is akin to the below:
The option to change custom color loadouts.
The ability to generate/create logo's and images and place them anywhere on a fitting.
The option for "complete" addons, such as cool looking suit models. Currently I feel like I look kinda like a wimpy astronaut in my Scout loadout. I want some cool looking shoulders and a killer looking bodysuit. Maybe even a crazy and completely non-practical looking headpiece to go with it. (So you know death is coming).
Visual Items like the above to be able to be purchased from player marketplace, with AUR, or dropped from Salvage.
"Special" items available, (appearance only), from Events.....such as participation in a Beta *Ahem*. This creates a "rare" vanity item that can be sold for tidy sums or used to show off.
I am Amarr after all, so shouldn't my suit be visually appealing even if it forgoes some practicality?
Can anyone confirm any/all of the above that will be added? I think appearance items would sell more AUR then being able to grab a weapon at an earlier stage. This is because they are permanent and honestly, who doesn't like looking like a badass. Besides we need something to do with our Vita App. |

It's not really that they don't look alright now. Some people like em and find em appealing. I am not too proud to admit that I am a sucker for visual upgrades however. I really like how DCUO implemented this. WoW I would run around in lesser gear that matched rather then the better stuff that looked hideous, (which is why I like the DCUO implementation better). But you could definitely glean some time and appeal from a vast customization option. I would not be against paying for such visual items either.
I know CCP probably has a bad taste in their mouths cause of the monocle debacle, but I don't mind paying for a visual status quo if you will. After all it's an option, you don't have to purchase it, it doesn't enhance performance so not pay to win, and it would definitely draw in revenue, meaning more performance type gear can be offered without charge, (or not).
I wanna run around in some winged shoulders with a demonic headpeice on lol. Even if it means I am easier to hit. It would definitely add to the immersion in the characters that we all work soo hard to create with skills; if I can personalize my appearance to show-off as well. |

This is true. Could possibly make certain styles and colors available only to certain tiers. Would offer even more incentive to use the expensive suits, (other than to kick ass). |

Your probably right. *Sigh* here's to dreaming though. I guess I am doomed to look like a gimp rather than a badass. I hope that they at least have tons of suits to choose from so I can hopefully find one I like. The current Scout suit just doesn't.....suit me. |

long story short, I like to be a target lol. If I could I would put a crosshair right on my forehead and back to make it easier =-p
I suppose once cloaking becomes available it wont really matter, as you won't be able to see my "fit of doom" anyways, but it would be a nice touch to at least see my black scout suit run away from a fresh corpse. Instead of my "opaque/puke green" astronaut garb.
The logi's and heavies actually look pretty good. The assault is so-so. But the scout just looks gimpish imo.
It might add to framerate load due to the images, and this could slightly mean more network overhead, but I couldn't see it being a major contributor to network latency just due to the imagery. It's a very small image compared to the battleground itself, and would be pre-loaded as much as the fit would be. |
